Final dissemination event in Kunming on 19-20 October 2016
The Final Event of LinkTADs in China took place on 19 October 2016 as a special session within the Framework of the 12th Symposium of Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, which was organized in Kunming, China.
Around 60 audiences from Chinese veterinary institutes, agricultural universities and industry attended the event, as well as representative from LinkTADs partners. The event started at 19:00 on 19 October and lasted for two hours. Information main outcomes of LinkTADs, EU-China cooperation and future opportunities in animal health and some of the tools provided by LinkTADs to facilitate the research community to find funds, partners or information on the process, were share with the audiences.
The FAO officer and LinkTADs Coordinator, Daniel Beltran-Alcrudo, opened the Dissemination Event and outlined the project’s structure and highlighted the major achievements of the project in terms of networking opportunities (workshops), webinars, short academic exchanges, joint laboratories, trainings, dissemination and project proposals. Xin Dong from SPI presented the EU-China cooperation and future opportunities, especially the EU-China Food, Agriculture and Biotechnology (FAB) Flagship initiative, on behalf of Dr. Nicolas Dandois from Delegation of the European Union to China and shared the open-access database of funding and partners developed by LinkTADs to facilitate the researchers to find international partners and funding opportunities. Zhizhong Ma from Shanghai Veterinary research institute, CAAS introduced the joint research and exchange activities supported by LinkTADs. Ana Mateus from RVC gave an overview of the applied research and teaching opportunities between the EU and China, stressing the importance of the China Field Epidemiology Training Programme for Veterinarians (China FETPV). After the presentations, there was a poster and networking session.
