LinkTADs
Linking Epidemiology and Laboratory Research on Transboundary Animal Diseases and Zoonoses in EU and China

Twinning Projects

During its lifetime, LinkTADs has actively interacted with six other EU-funded consortia: STAR-IDAZ, ASFORCE, RISKSUR, EFFORT, RAPIDIA and COMPARE. Such collaborations have been mostly through the joint organization of events, as well as inviting experts from the other consortia to attend LinkTADs workshops.

STAR-IDAZ co-ordinates research relevant to emerging and major infectious diseases of livestock, fish, and managed bees, and those infections of animals that carry risk of disease threat to human health.
RISKSUR aimed to develop decision support tools for the design of cost-effective risk-based surveillance systems that integrate the most recent advances in epidemiological methodologies.
18 partners aim to provide EU veterinarians, pig farmers and policy makers with practical answers and prevention tools against the disease.
EFFORT will provide scientific evidence and high quality data to inform decision makers, the scientific community and other stakeholders about the consequences of anti-microbial resistance (AMR).
COMPARE is a large EU project with the intention to speed up the detection of and response to disease outbreaks among humans and animals worldwide through the use of new genome technology.

Rapid field diagnostics and screen in veterinary medicine play an integral role in the detection, monitoring, control, and subsequent eradication of animal diseases and pathologies.

To establish and sustain global research partnerships that will generate scientific knowledge and tools to contribute to the successful prevention, control, and where feasible eradication of African swine fever (ASF)
