The second workshop held on April 15-16 focused on strengthening the cross-border coordination and networking of research in the field of animal health, especially zoonoses, and was aimed at seeking opportunities for bringing together new ideas, expertise, technologies and funds for cooperation between the EU and China. Over 100 participants from 35 research institutes in Asia, Europe and the United States attended the meeting.

The meeting covered a wide range of topics of the animal health issues that are of key concern in EU and China, including the laboratory research and epidemiology study on H5N1 and H7N9 Avian influenza, African swine fever, Brucellosis and other important animal diseases and zoonoses.

The attendees had in-depth communication on each topic and thoroughly discussed the ways to strengthen the cooperation among the LinkTADs participants, which provided a firm base for further implementation of the project.
